John A Cooper at Wideford House

Date on the back of this photo is 1936, John A Cooper is standing beside the pick-up truck at Wideford House,St. Ola. I think John would have been a brother to Dougie and Charlie, Dougie of the musician fame, great friend of Dougie Shearer. The Truck has a South Country name on the door. What make of pick-up is it? Thanks for the memory Phil. I learned to drive in one of these in the early 1950’s at my place of work where it was purely a works runabout. I was in my teens and so was the truck, a 1920’s – 1930’s one-ton Morris Commercial. I took great pleasure in polishing its chrome radiator, but was not too fond of that fuel tank sitting under the bonnet just above my knees; you can just see the filler cap in your photo, in the centre; close to the windscreen.
