Kirkwall Grammar School Reunion of 1945,in the Tankerness Hall, year 2000. It was with great sadness when I heard of the death of John Mason on Saturday morning, Jan.2011 on I believe his 71st.Birthday.J ohn is pictured here to right of the centre in the middle wearing a light grey suit and tie,he was a school friend until he left Orkney. I have read John Budge's comment today on the Image Library and he has said it all about John Mason,MBE. I met Hilary and John a few times when they were on holidays in Orkney on route to or from Stronsay. There are quite a few well known faces in this group so I will leave you to it. Thank you Phil for your comment. I had great respect for John. He stayed here wae us at "Burnhouse" on several occasions. He even composed a piece of music for whur baby son called "Heir on a G String" That heir is noo a dad tae his own babies. Yes John did so much for Scottish Music wae must all be prood o whur ane folk, and there are plenty more coming on tae the music scene, only this week young anes fae Orkney have won acclaim in Glasgow- we must salute talent always, and be prood o whur young folk.
