Comments:
i would be tempted to say that this is Woodbine Cottage in Maitland Place at the head of the pier with the store gable end in the background. Many of the old houses in Finstown were built by the Andersons. Incidentally my grandparents retired into this house when they retired out of Cruan.

Hi Aaron. During WW2 my grandfather had a mate called either J or F Anderson in the RN whose address was Ivy Cottage, Finstown, Orkney. Was he a brother of your grandfather?

Okay, this seems to be confirmed Maitland Place around 1911, and Adam & Catherine Flett (nee Cusiter) were living these, so it's assumed that they are the ones in the photo as it's come from the collection of James Hourie Flett, their son.
