The girl on the left is Mary Shepherd Leggat, the boy is James Leggat and the girl on the right is Isabella Sinclair Tennant - all grandchildren of Isabella Sinclair (Granny Shackleton of the photo with Bessie Linklater and John Norquay and Granny Shackleton))

Hi Richard, just noticed your comment from January. Yes, I am the niece of Mary and Jim Leggat and Isabella Tennant. My mother, Isabella Leggat was the sister of Mary & Jim Leggat but she's not in this photo. The children in the photo are all grandchildren of Isabella Sinclair in the photo with Betsy & John Norquay. Janice Pires is my second cousin and Wilma Paulley, who has also commented on some of the other photos is also my cousin. The Leggat and Tennant children spent their summers in Herston during the 20's & 30's. Based on ages of the children, I'd say the photo was 1930/1931 or thereabouts.

Ian - Oh Wow! Was she a neighbour of Bessie and John Linklater? Where did she live in relation to the Hope and Stonepark Farm?

I never met Mattie as I live in Longhope Orkney and she lived in Edinburgh.

I have a Isabella Sinclair in my TREE and she married a Thomas Wards in the Orkneys in 1790 So circa 1765 or so. I have not found her Parents so far.
