Another doorstep to compliment Isobel’s picture #24352. This mosaic doorstep is across the street at the old Orkney Herald bookshop. I have been trying to photograph this doorstep for months but it has been uncaringly covered with workmen’s tools, stoor, bruck and non bruck since they began. People used to be proud of their doorsteps. I remember my mother doing her’s with Cardinal Red polish. Photo 2010
