In connection with picture #24218, this snap taken probably about 1936 shows my grandfather Charles Smith on the right with an unidentified friend, sitting on the wall of Lyness House, Stromness. He was then the retired NLB Depot Manager, having previously sailed deep sea as bosun in windjammers. (Photographer unknown.)
