The Austin 10hp Car could have been a Shooting Brake conversion by Alan Cairns who had a Coach and Body Building business at the foot of Wellington Street in Kirkwall in the late 40s and early 50s. He was married to an Orcadian and went back down south around 1955. He converted quite a few big cars into shooting brakes' which was an American idea after world war 2. His House and Workshop was sold and the latter became Laurie Bros. Motor Factors, and then Orkney Factors, then sold to a private developer who turned it into flats. Added by Phil Brough.

We always knew it as a Shooting Brake. I believe it was bought from someone in Kirkwall.

Can't see the number plate but it looks like Tommie Logie's old maroon 'brake.

Seem to mind the registration of Tom Logie's shooting brake was DVA 856. There was another shooting brake in the Island belonging to Jim Sandison. I can't mind its registration, but it had a smaller body that the Logie machine. This could be it.
