Spitfire G-FIRE at Kirkwall following an airshow in Shetland in 1985 (I think) piloted by a BA Budgie pilot called Roger Hendry who "buzzed" a 'Budgie' over kirkwall airport as part of a fly past.
I had the fun and honour of strapping Roger into the cockpit prior to departure.
I was led to believe it was red as a protest against getting no asssistance to paint it in the original camoflage colouring, but this may not be true.
It was great to see and hear it anyway and to get so close to a legend.
