Enterprise Exhibition Orkney 1948.
Scan of signature of George(Mackay) Brown from 1948 over a rather attractive label in a book which says "Purchased at Enterprise Exhibition Orkney 1948" I have added a more modern GMB signature for comparison, the seller assured me his grandmother knew GMB and had asked him to sign it, and it looks fine to me, allowing for the differences in age at signing. The book is J T Smith Leask's A Peculiar People etc published in 1931.
What I really am interested in knowing something about is this exhibition, can anyone help?

A lot of this exhibition was held in the old Kirkwall and St Ola Community Centre, whuch was situated roughly where the Kirkwall Fire Station is now

I think the 'rather attractive label' was the work of the late Ian MacInnes. I vaguely remember the exhibition (in the year before I left Stromness Academy) but can contribute nothing useful about it, sorry.

this morning I opened a book from my orkney collection (the adventures of John Renton) and discovered the same sticker inside. My father James Gibson bought the book.
