The Winsome was bought by Jimmy Bruce, a Shetlander who came to live in Stromness, and who moved to Evanton, in the late 50s. He kept the boat moored at Invergordon, but hardly ever used her. Unfortunatley Jimmy met with an accident while diving at the Tondra Bridge in Shetland, and died shortly after this.

The Winsome belonged to Jimmy Bruce from Weaver Ha' Stromness in the 1960's I believe he moved down to Invergordon & I think he took the boat with him

Hi! Tommy, thats the Winsome I remember, I think that could be Geordie Arthur back on to the three folk on the upper deck, he always wore a white cable knitted gansey when he was at sea. He very rarely went out without his wife and daughters. I remember him as an extremely kind man who was an expert on all kinds of wildlife, and he would lend me his pram dinghy which we sculled about in the Basin ,pumping water out of quite a few boats. Those were the days!. Added by Phil Brough.
