Photo taken 1996,"Xarifa" on the far right, tied up alongside the"Creole". The Nicolson Brothers' will keep me right,hopefully- was she Hourston built for Alfie and Sons? I know most of the boats astern of the"Xarifa", back along to the boat with the tripod mast which I think is the "Welcome Home". Is the boat tied up alongside her with the blue hull "The Wings 0f The Morning" or the "Procyon"? Added by Phil Brough.

I mind us in St Margarets Hope wae the lifeboat, I think wae were landing someone of a vessel, Anyway there were two new boats in there overnight on their way from Stromness tae Sanday, both built in Stromness. One was called Burness Queen, now the above Island Queen, the other anes name I cant remember, I do mind thinking how good hid was for Sanday to be getting two new boats in one day.
Does anyane mind what the other boat was called and what year that wid hiv been?.

The Island Queen was sold to Fife a wee while back but Martin Foulis kept the K420 number on the boat he has now, the Alison Marie.

Phil, you may well be right, and maybe that was why both boats were in The Hupp,or might one o them have been built in Stromness? You would wonder at two comming oot o' the same yard on the same day?. Answers please on a postcard to the Orkney communities website!!.
