Notice of sale in 1903 of hulk 'Enterprise', which served as the Stromness depot of Northern Lighthouse Board before the pier was built. My mother lived on board with her parents and siblings. (She rowed a flattie to get to school.) She was ten years old when the hulk was sold. I like to say that my Grandad was Captain of the Store-ship Enterprise (he was NLB Depot Superintendent). I don't know who bought the hulk or where she ended up.
