My Grandad, David Bews is front row, 2nd from the left. I don't know what RA unit he was with, but he ended up with the Seaforths in France & Germany later on in WW2. Date estimated

Second from the left in the back row must be David Shearer, originally from Housebay but later from Scoulters

With the exception of the Royal Navy Gentleman on the front right, I would say that this is another group of men from the 226 Battery R.A. The time W.W.2 for sure.
I am indebted to my friend John Wallace for confirmation that the gentleman second from the right in the back row is none other than John (Jeck) Matches who worked as a baker for R Garden all of his working life apart from his war time service.
He was born at Ossquoy, South Parish, South Ronaldsay and saw most of his army service at Stangar Head.

Probably not 226 HAA, but Coast Regiment. RA

I think that the second on the right on the lower row may be my father Frederick Bird. He was working on radar there during the war.
