Kirkwall Volunteers again. Looks like the rear of the Crafty. Glaitness House in background?

Looks like the photographer was on top of one of the walls or sheds at the foot of the Victoria Street gardens where the Gunn's close car park is now. That's the dyke at the other side of Junction road that you can see at the bottom of the picture. The wall around the slaughter house is probably out of sight behind the flag. You can see how well-used the Crafty was as a bleaching and drying green too.

That's a massive firing-squad. Wonder who the poor soul with his back to the wall was?
