Comments:
I was an avid fan of the C.V.S. in the early to late 50, s.I asked Mary Mc Gowan to dance with me at at Dance/concert in AYR, after dancing with Mary I was a hero around my buddies, can anyone tell me how I can source some early recordings of C.V.S.with Mary as vocalist.

Can`t comment on this picture but I remember standing in Brodick,Arran in the early 60`s and listening to a 20min. drum solo from C.V.S drummer. OH HAPPY DAYS.

I remember them playing at a dance in the Stromness town hall. That could have been 58 ?. The Stromness band gave them a spell half way through, I remember that was my first shot on a 20" ride cymbal. We got tickets for their dance in the Cosmo the following night, and that same autographed photo. I have an LP of the band if anwbody would like it ! Ron Marwick

Hi - it was great to find this photo. I am Mary McGowan's son, and she is still alive and doing fine, living in Glasgow. I will have a look for earlier music, that was asked about, and let you know. I don't suppose you can share more stories or photos, can you?!

Hi
I'm the daughter of Gordon John sinton, vivienne, he was also called and known as Johnny Sinton, he played the banjo/guitar in the Stompers in the 50's, he still doing great at 81yrs old, as child I was fascinated by Mary's voice, I was weaned on jazz music and feel very proud of my dad who is still playing today, he's fantastic for his age, but only plays at barmitzfas, weddings and funerals lol.. he had a first cut album that had hand written sleeve of the band that he used to play regularly as I grew up.. really great to.
