UNSURE IF THIS IS THE CORRECT YEAR BUT IT MUST HAVE BEEN TAKEN AROUND 1960. NOT MUCH GOING ON IN THE GARSON SCHOOL & INDUSTRIAL ESTATE AREA. ANY FURTHER INFO WELCOME.

Comments:
The big building in the foreground, where the fire station is now, was a grain silo, to hold the grain which used to arrive by coaster, for Fursbreck mill, which was housed in the building now occupied by the Co-op. Sadly this enterprise folded when eggs bacame unprofitable.

I think the silo was built around 1966 when we came to Stromness to live at Hillside Terrace
