This is the third photo taken along the pier as the steamer was leaving . I dont think Tom Carter appears in any of them. I think the tall man in uniform standing in line with the centre of the store is Donald Thompson [Customs officer].

Ithink the harbour master at that time was Capt Clements uniformed in the front row E.S.

I don't think the man in the centre is Donald Thomson (my dad). More likely to be a captain because he has medal ribbons on his uniform.
