I would guess this and picture #19750 are taken in the garden of the Imperial Hotel, Albert Street. The hotel subsequently became the Education Offices and Quest Buildings, while the garden was built on by Woolworths when they extended their shop to Mounthooly Lane. I see from the 1911 census that the hotel was then run by a Mrs Mitchell who lived there with her two daughters. Could this be them and friends/relatives?

By strange coincidence, when sorting through some old photos tonight, I found two taken in exactly the same spot and probably within a year or two of this one. Each shows a young woman dressed in similar fashion to those shown here. I have no idea who they are, but they're presumably friends of my Flett relatives amongst whose photos I found the pictures. Curiously, printed on both mounts is: "The Caledonian Artists' Guild, Photographers and Enlargers, 39 Montague Street, Edinburgh."

It would be interesting to see your photos Paul. I googled the Caledonian Artists Guild but no results.
