I really do not know the date for this picture at all. I wish my forebears had written more comprehensive captions! However, I`m sure some Orcadians will recognise people here..

Comments:
This is one for Capt Fred but I think the man with the fender might be Wilson Nicolson, and the men in the stern are possibly Wm Sutherland Hon Sec and Wm sutherland (Wullie o the Bu).
This is only a guess but the photo looks as if it's been taken after the naming ceremony. The man in the peaked cap is presumably the cox- would that be Billy Dass?

Help!! Fred.

The buildings in the background are the Kirk and the YM and I can say they are still there and little changed.

I think that this picture would have been taken before 1935. Could it have been the arrival of the Thomas McCunn in 1933? I agree that the two men standing up with the hats could be Willie Sutherland and the other Willie "O" the Bu. The one in the ford. end of the cockpit could be J.M.F.Groat Snr. The man with the fender, looks to me like Jackie Norquay and the Coxwain looks like Jake Swanson.
