Comments:
Some background to this photograph.
Janet MacKay was married to Alexander Stewart Banks who was a blacksmith in Stromness. Their son, also Alexander Stewart Banks (grandfather) was I believe a policeman before moving to the Midlands where he became a draper.
This photo is taken either at the Ring of Brodgar or the Standing Stones. I think this must have been around the time my great grandfather died (1938). Janet & Alexander (gg-parents) are buried in Warbeth along with a son who died in infancy.
Alexander (gfather) had a sister Maggie Fiddler who lived and taught on Stronsay. There is also a brother who is buried in Warbeth along with his wife.

A couple of corrections! Frank is Banks not Fiddler.
Jessie is also Banks but not related..
