1st Kirkwall Coy.B.B. at Duthie Park, Aberdeen.

Traditional B.B. camps were almost always held in Orkney under canvas, however this camp was more of a visit to see the city of Aberdeen and surrounding Shire.
For a large number of the lads this was their first ever trip "Doon Sooth",and became a trip to remember.
The company was billeted in the Y.M.C.A.in South College Street for B&B,and had the main meals of the day at the Bon Accord Hotel.
Various visits were made to cinemas, theatres, swimming p
ool, and bus trips to Stonehaven and Deeside.
To make this occassion even more memorable was the fact that the trips to and from Aberdeen, by boat, were made under flat calm sea conditions.
A full list of names will follow.

I have to tell you that I was a young Boys Brigade member on that trip to Aberdeen in 1948, and moved with my parents to London in Nov 1948. My name is Brian Linklater standing next to Bobbie Corsie and behind Brin Smith. The J Brass (Australia) is not correct.
