Ba at Tankerness House

A Dougie Cooper picture, date estimated. Tankerness House has been renovated in this picture. I understand that the lean-to between it and Bain the Painter's was the Cosy Cafe. I don't remember that myself, but I do remember the St Magnus Cafe where the sign is to the left of the arch.

I also remember that the close between Bain's and J&W Tait's was a handy sheltered shortuct to the Back Road. Was that a right of way, for it is certainly closed off now, by a traditional white plastic door on Broad Street?

Those look like the same Christmas lights that we still have today - maybe a few less working bulbs now though????

Does the sign at the side of the pavement say "TEMPORARY BUS STOP"?
36 years later it's still a bus stop :o)
