New cathedral chair candidates

Visitors to St Magnus Cathedral over the next few weeks will have the chance to comment on new prototype chairs.

Two new chair styles, developed after public consultation on earlier prototypes, are now on display in the cathedrals south transept.

The public have until May 19 to share their comments with the OIC, after which a decision will be made on the preferred design.

To voice an opinion, contact Ian Rushbrook by email at the address with this picture (listed above it), or write to him at the council.

Comments:
Sir, Although residents of Arbroath, we visit Kirkwall at holiday times to see my wife's sister. When there, we always worship in St Magnus Cathedral and as recent as April 2, my wife commented that the chairs were getting a bit suspect.
Good to see a choice for new ones available.
The Treske chair looks more substantial and the little shelf swings it for us.
Kind regards, A S Herd.

Good point Mike. Mind you, the Cathedral ladies do a fine cuppa at the end of each Sunday service.
Yours, Alan.
