Comments:
I was born there in 1940. Elizabeth Bews Cooke was my great grandmother. Edgar Cooke my GT. granfather. Two great folks and very kind. She sold everything from paraffin to woolies, food to cigarettes. Hot baps to groceries. Just about everything. Those were happy days in the 1940's. She was also a seamstress and sewed mens suits, womens costumes, bairns clothes etc. etc.with stitches that could not be seen. She was a very clever woman in many ways. Loved by everyone.
