Flood on Junction Road

The Back Road flooded, date estimated. Paul Sutherland will remember when it was though...

Afraid so. 1970 I think, when I was three. Though Junction Road was always prone to flooding, that was the only time the water got into my parents' house. If it is a later flood, it's no later than 78/9 when the Victoria Street car park was made and the old flat-topped Crafty dyke replaced.

Talk about famous last words! My earlier comment has been rather superseded by the events of 26th October. I would guess that the water then was over a foot deeper than in this photo.
