This photograph shows the property known as Stockan, Northdyke, Sandwick and is situated between the farms of Lenahowe and Upper Garson, just north of the Bay of Skaill. The property is owned by my wife's family.

I believe the couple in the photograph to be a Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey who resided there until 1926 after which it was occuppied by John G. Moar, my wife's grandfather.

I've traced my ancestors (Stoken in the US) to Stockans in Sandwick, Orkney. George Stockan, born April 26, 1785 to George Stockan (born 1763)and his wife Marion Kirkness (born 1762). My Stokens originally came from Sandwick to Quebec, Canada. Do you have any information on the farm in the photo, that would connect to my family tree? Thank you!

I received a list of descendants and I am related to George Stokan (B. 1763) who married Marion Kirkness (B. 1762) His son George (B. 1785) in Sandwick and died in Quebec 1n 1836. My grandfather was RJ Stoken (maybe Robert James) born in Michigan and married to Dorothy Plankey and they both died in Brookings Oregon.
