Im sure us older guys, all remember when we got dressed to go and see the bank manager

The gentleman at the back is Mr Norman Wallis, who was Chief Clerk in the Bank of Scotland, Kirkwall, prior to becoming manager at the Bonar Bridge Branch. The customer is Mr William Work from Stronsay. I, alongwith others, including Wilson Learmonth, operated this service between 1969 and 1972 approx. I would estimate the date the photo was taken would have been between 1965 and 1970.
