We interrupt the chronological addition of pictures sent in for this topical (yesterday) view of the demolition of St Clair's Emporium to make way for the forthcoming Lidl. And they call this progress.

This is the view from the back, near the Crafty residential caravan park, on the footpath to the Co-op and Somerfields.

Comments:
I was told that this building originally stood at Lyness on the right hand side as you drive up the brae heading for Longhope, but then was sold off by the admiralty and reassembled in Kirkwall. Perhaps someone can say what its original use was or even produce a picture.
