I think that by the look of the Matelots hats, this must have been taken in the first world war.

Would that be carbide gas lamps Fred?. I agree the navy men look more like first war by there gear.

I think they must be carbide or maybe oil ones similar to Alladins.

Certainly the slogan "For God, For King and & for my country" was used by the YMCA during the first world war. But then things change slowly in Longhope!
