The boat was towed over to Lyness after being refloated and she is still there as far as I know.

isle of tiree is still at lyness, there is talk of her being broken up but this has not happened yet.

The blame can rarely be applied to the boats - irresponsible boat owners "park" their boats in Houton and seem to assume that no harm can come to them even if they do no look at them for months...........

Seems that Lyness is only suitable to put old wrecked boats to lie and add to the already neglected look of the O I C owned under developed area.
Funny no such wrecks are to be found at the Kirkwall pier or Kirkwall Marina !!.
Oh no I'm not bitter!.

Sad end to a very fine vessel. I was Master on her many times when she was in the fish farming industry. Sailed with loads of fine guys and have happy memories.

Yes Duncan you are right it is a sad end to see any vessel end up like this, Some people should NOT be allowed near boats if they are going to let things like this happen. I am sure she would have ( in the correct hands ) sailed on a while still.

I was an apprentice with Carmichael Marine in 1987 where we did the refit and built the new superstructure in Campbeltown. Sad to see her like this...
