I was on watch at Pentland MRSC and took the Mayday call from the Calf Sound. An RAF Helo was called and took the crew off before the vessel sunk. Unfortunately at this time I cannot remember the date but it would have been around the mid 1980's. The position if I remember was to the SE of South Ronaldsay. It is also unforunate that Coastguard record have been disposed or lost since the closure of Pentland. However I'll dig a bit deeper and see if I can come up with something more.

It was 1989- that is me standing patiently waiting to be winched off.
