Duke of Kent

The Duke of Kent named the first motor Lifeboat at Longhope. The year was 1926.
Here he is climbing up the slipway after having a trip in the K.T.J.S.Mr Wm Sutherland who was the Hon Sec at the time is beside him.
The slipway is still the same and is a testimony to how well built in wood it was, over a hundred years ago.
