A Tom Kent picture, date unknown, showing the Stromness Hotel and Town House. Note that the Harbour Office (?) has not been built yet, nor the huts that I remember as containing the Fishermen's Mission, before they were removed.

The low building with the clock was the Harbour Office. The unbuilt building was, in my youth, the Customs Office. The building to the left of the Harbour Office was a Men's Lavatory. No doors on the cubicles - you all sat there in a row sorting out the world's problems!
