This photograph taken on the day the new Longhope Lifeboat came home . All the lifeboats came into Ousna Bay below the kirkyard and lowered there flags as a mark of respect to the men who lost there lives in 1969 on the service to the SS Irene,
This was a most moving gesture by so many lifeboats, some of there crews not born at that time but shows how our heritage of all things in Orkney will be remembered forever.
