I thought it would be easy to date this picture because the signs in the windows of D B Peace's cabinetmaker's shop advertise its clearing sale and Peace opened the Albert Kinema in that building in 1928. However, it seems Peace gave up the shop a few years earlier and W T Sinclair the draper moved there from Bridge Street before subsequently taking over the Castle Hotel building. The photo is no later than 1917, maybe a year or two earlier. I think Peace also had a shop in Lerwick for a time. In the chemist's doorway standing on the right is my great-aunt Ella Flett.

Might he be a descendent or related to Peter Peace who married my grandmother' aunt, Margaret Flett (James Flett's , born 1872, sister)?
