Many thanks to OrganGrinder for that almost forgotten memory. I, (Bo Peep) was also on radio at that time and many benefitted from our resources in organising cbs for people. Also thanks must go to the Stromness crew for doing the same

Yes Wyn you did indeed take part in that broadcast. Hey it's 26 years ago. Today I've listened to the recording again just to hear the young Bo Peep and BJ. I heard you driving home the message about swearing and music playing on CB.
I say again: anyone's welcome to a copy of the tape.

Ah, “Ironside.” The Orkney Airforce Club gave him the radio, I lumbered him with the handle. White Tornado and I could tell you an interesting story of introducing him to CB radio, a story related to the making of a Radio Orkney broadcast, where Angus Findlater and Kenny Ross were the anchormen for Radio Orkney, and Ironside the star. And what a star. I’m very pleased to say that I still have a recording of that broadcast.
I’ve just listened to the tape for old times sake, it reveals White tornado had half his beard cut off to raise money more radios. He had to stay with that cut for five days and sentenced to having to visit every pub for that time. Poor Feller, HI Hi.
I Also had the pleasure of listening to “BJ” again: Sandra Newlands. Then the icing on the cake: a QSO between “War Lord” Kirkwall and “Teddybear” in Watten, Caithness.
Radio Orkney did a great job on the editing with some great music to augment the program. Making very good use of Mike’s favourite: “Convoy.”
I’ll Be pleased to share it with anyone who wants get in touch. I hope someone does because it really belongs back in Orkney.
