Citizens Band Radio became "legal" in the UK in 1981.
Interest tailed off in this super idea after a few years for a number of reasons, including bad frequency and mode allocation, and abuse.

Ah Spoot, that name brought back memories. Does your better half know how many people were members of OAF? I wonder if anyone has any photos taken at CB radio functions?
