The original Stanger house that my dad was born in back in 1920 - originally constructed about 1670.

Photo taken from the A967 beside Stanger.
Nether Stanger crofter cottage - built in mid 1600s.
Earliest known tenant - 1677 John Stanger,wife Janet (Twatt) daughter of John, daughter Ann Stanger.
Last tenant - 1927 Anne Spence, daughter Eliza, son Robert, daughter Isabelle, son Norman, daughter Jeanie, son James (my dad). Husband James and son William went to Canada in 1924. The family followed in 1927.
Structure to rear-left was the "Duckie Hoose" where my grandfather's sister, Mary Spence lived.
