Kirkwall Grammar School Intake of August 1939

This class started only a few weeks prior to the commencement of World War 2.
My particular memory at this time was having to "run for home" when the air raid warning sounded. At this time there were no air-raid shelters and being sent home was the only option.
I am indebted to Muriel for her help with the list of class names and my friend John for his arranging said list.
