Earl's Palace, Birsay, 1962

Alan sends in this picture taken by his father in law, Andy Wylie.
Here we see the Earl's Palace and a road to the Point of Buckquoy that looks as ruinous as the palace itself. On the road is a Hillman, registration HRG 744, that we will see more and more of in the pictures that are added in the near future- is this Andy's car I speculate?

I am trying to find out if someone has any information on my Spence ancestors John and Jean Spence who were living in Whitclat Birsay from 1841 to 1871.My great great grandfather Jacob Spence who was born 1826 Birsay to John Spence and Jean Spence and was living at Whitclat Birsay when he was 15 in 1841.
