I'm almost sure that's my dad, Charlie Millar, in the suit on the left of this image,inside the cordon.

Could this be the 850th Anniversary of the Cathedral?Going by the direction travel of the cars,H.M The Queen Mother would have come from Harbour St, where she greeted H.M King Olav at the Corn Slip where he came ashore on the Norwegian Royal barge from the Royal yacht Norge
