What a marvelous photograph, especially when it was taken more than 140 years ago. Detail is fantastic, especially when enlarged on the large version.

I think the steamer anchored on the right is the St Olaf, a precursor of St Ola (1).
Incidentally, Steven, I thought your 'Wow!' was a little over the top until I blew the picture up big: it's wonderful! Sharp as a tack, inviting careful scrutiny to find familiar landmarks among much that has been lost. Thank you Mr Ferguson for posting. Though I have a book of Washington Wilson photographs, I'd never seen this one before. I wonder if it's a composite picture from more than one shot, but I can't see any joins.
