The Kirkwall Royal Observer Corps bunker is located at HY41071159. It is in n a large rectangular compound beside a trig station. On the west side of an un-named minor road just off the top of Wideford Hill. Wideford Hill is a public viewpoint with several radio masts. The post closed in September 1991. The round dome on the side of the vent shaft covers the radio aerial sockets. This indicates Kirkwall was a Master Post (Radio). Photo June 2004

Hi can you tell me who owns the ROC bunkers in Kirkwell, Stromness, and Deerness

All the ROC Posts were returned to the owners of the land on which they were built in 1991. Kirkwall- Orkney Islands Council, Deerness- farm of Seatter and Stromness- farm of Brockan,
