Using directions found on the net and a supply of gaffer-tape, I rigged up a pair of old binoculars (liberated from Germany by my Dad in WW1) to project the sun's image onto a white card. The circular screen to block extraneous light came from pizza packaging. The eclipse was intermittently obscured by rain-cloud, including unfortunately the point of max coverage. It was good fun, but the resulting photos could just as well have been faked-up with paper cut-outs. (They weren't; the upper right photo - taken through my rather grubby window - shows the sun's image quite nicely just below the knob of the tripod's winding handle.)
