If I remember correctly, this beast was said to do about 25 gallons to the mile but it couldn't stand up to the Orkney seas. The sea trials in the North Isles were, I think, short lived.

We all had a free ride on her from the harbour in Stronsay out into Sanday Sound. She flew along when she was up on her skis but I think it had to be a calm day.
