Sula trimmed up in 2005

Sula after the big trim up, ready for launching in 2005.

Sula was built by Duncan's of Burray in the early 50's I think for Russell Croy as a pleasure boat with a full length cabin at the time.

She has a long history and has seen many roles in Orkney waters. Mansie Flaws ran her on the Rousay Egilsay Wyre and Tingwall routes.

Her last commercial work was as a creel boat owned and worked by Lennie Wards.

Last time I saw the Sula she was in sorry state after sinking at the breakwater pier at Kirkwall this winter past.

Smith Foubister did a deal with the Sula to Jim Michell for the Ewing McGruer in the 70's. I sold the Sula to buy the Ewing McGruer.

Small world sometimes.
