Here is a photograph of Charles Muir or Chicken Muir as he was known.He worked for the Orkney Creamery before the 1939-45 war. Charles Chicken Muir lived in the Strynd. Does anyone know anything more about this man?

Yes Steven, I can remember Charles Muir quite well.
When I was a young man, Charlie was a member of the 1st Kirkwall Coy. Boys Brigade also. He eventually reached the rank of Lieutenant,and when on parade was nearly always with the Colour Party.
Although a deal older than myself,I have good memories of Charlie as a fine man and an upright citizen of Kirkwall.
