The Merlin Rocket is Freya (817) and a couple of Enterprises. I've no idea when this was taken, a Wifie Marr photo from the Orkney Archives.

After 1969 because the Islander is in the background and possibly early 70s because the "Otter Bank" is still in service moored in the middle of the basin

On the lefthand side of picture facing camera is the late Ronnie Drever, owner of Freya, next to him is his crew Alistair Learmonth.

By the time I started racing in the early 1970's you had to wear some form of buoyancy. If you zoom in I think Ronnie is wearing a buoyancy vest.
