George McGhie who immigrated to Victoria Austalia about 1850. He was born in 1829 at St.Margaret's Hope South Ronaldsay. He died in 1913 at Stawell Victoria Australia and most probably never returned to the Orkney's.
He is my great great grandfather.

Census details 1841 shows George McGea (35) Fisherman, Jane McBeath (40), George McGea (12), John A McGea (9), James G McGea (6), William (3) all living at the farm of Blanster, on the outskirts of St. Margaret's Hope. All were said to have been born in Orkney.

George is in my Family Tree. He is the uncle of wife of great-granduncle of husband of 4th cousin. So not a close relation. I have put his photograph on my tree.
