i took the photo on a link road between the A961
and the B 9042 when i was heading for Herston. I was sure the island was Swona but i am now having
doubts. Can anyone confirm.?

Yes, you are correct. That is Swona.

Taken from the junction with the road to the Nave. The house is Cyril Annal's (Stenthigarth) this being the house the last couple stayed in when they left Swona

Swona with stensigarth in the foreground..the one that the last couple to leave the island moved to I believe .Cyril still uses the house (they would have been Cyril and Martin's Aunt and Uncle.....I think...better not quote me on that, I'll ask him in the morning!!)
